This International Women's Day help us spread the joy and hope!
On International Women’s Day this year we are launching our first global campaign – Join me on the Bridge. This campaign launch will see women from divided communities around the world joining on bridges to say no to war and yes to peace - a global celebration of women and the importance of their role in creating lasting peace in the world.
In London we will hold our launch on the Millennium bridge, and then in the evening Haunch of Venison, the amazing gallery within the buildings of the Royal Academy of Art, have donated their space to us for our crescendo of the day’s events.
This evening event will be a celebration in dance – Haunch of Venison will be filled with bespoke dance performance of all different kinds; contemporary ballet, traditional Balkan, South Asian bespoke routines and Sufi whirlers dancing through the night… performance from top female performance artists Eloise Fornieles and Kirstie Mcleod will complement the dance. The performance will take place throughout and with-in the exhibitions of amazing artwork and installations, which guests will be encouraged to explore and discover… so that each guest will leave our celebration with their own unique experience…
Princess Julia and Pam Hogg will DJ in our mirrored disco room, and Tallulah Rendall and Laura Comfort will perform live sets in our cabaret room. We will also hold an auction of amazing money-can’t-buy experiences, which will be conducted by top international Christie’s auctioneer Hugh Edmeades. Lots include releasing a wild cheetah back into the wild, an evening in the only private box at the Royal Opera House with a private dining room – to dine in the interval with only your guests and a personal shopping experience with Joan Burstein, founder of leading British fashion boutique Browns. Two rooms will be devoted to films and images of the campaign launch around the world, sharing the visions of hope and joy and celebration from our sisters everywhere.
