Bosnia and Herzegovina

Project Independence and Bosnia and Herzegovina: Women for Women International, with Soroptimist International support, will strengthen existing programs to women survivors of the Balkan wars. As international government aid declines, the local programs need new sources of funding to reach out to additional women who still need assistance. The formal economy has improved little, leaving virtually no options for survivors to support themselves. Funds from Project Independence will allow expansion of program capacity to reach more women still struggling to find jobs, as well as expand our microcredit lending program.
