Income Generation and Microcredit Lending

Once skills training is completed, Project Independence will support 600 women in receiving either a microcredit loan or income generation support.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina and Afghanistan, women are eligible to join the Microcredit Lending Program. Through the program, women will receive a loan to start a small business, as well as training in business skills, basic accounting, and other skills needed to operate a small business. In Rwanda, women often join together in community cooperatives to start small community-based businesses. Through Project Independence, these women will receive training, guidance and support as they start these community-based businesses.
