Enter Artwork in the Through Her Eyes Art Project

Women for Women International supporter Lisa Rico is the curator of Through Her Eyes, an art project that invites artists to create a work of art inspired by photos of Women for Women International's participants.  The artwork will be displayed on the project's website and at the artists' discretion in public exhibits.  All artists agree to donate 50% of the proceeds from the sale of the works to Women for Women International.

This is your opportunity for your art to make a difference in the world.  To participate, fill out the Entry & Agreement form.  As soon as it is received you will be sent a CD containing photographs of women survivors of war.  You may then choose a photograph that inspires you to create a new piece of art for Through Her Eyes.

Run for Congo Women

In 2005, Women for Women International supporter Lisa Shannon created the Run for Congo Women in hopes of raising awareness about the issues facing women in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. She raised enough money to sponsor 80 women by running 30 miles through the woods in her native Portland, Oregon. Since then, she and other individuals have organized dozens of runs throughout the country, raising over $200,000 and supporting hundreds of women in the DRC.

This year women across the country - and the world - are joining Lisa in her mission. The Run for Congo Women's 2007 goal is to raise $1 million dollars to support women in the Congo as they make the transition from victim to survivor to active citizen. All proceeds benefit Women for Women International. You can be a part of this incredible event!
