Thousands of women around the world have experienced war and violence in ways that you and I cannot even imagine. And while our lives seem worlds apart, we have so much in common. Like us, these women want to send their children to school. They want to make sure that their families have enough to eat, and are safe from harm. Like us, they want to feel respected and valued. What separates us is that they have survived the horrors of war and violence. Women for Women International – with the support of friends like you – can give these women the opportunity and hope to start over.

Since 1993, more than 61,000 people from 65 countries have offered donations, sponsored women and joined our community. Get Involved in our UK Community

 

In 2006, Women for Women International expanded operations and established Women for Women International UK, giving the organisation a permanent presence in the UK. 

 

Women for Women International was already benefiting from the generous support of British sponsors and incredible media attention as the result of the release of Zainab Salbi's books, Hidden in Plain Sight and The Other Side of War.  To expand our global community in the UK - and to benefit more women survivors of war around the world - Women for Women International seized the opportunity to launch our UK office and build our international network.

 

Women for Women International's UK office is based in London and has begun to reach out to the local community, other NGOs and women's organisations, the government and the media. We are working to raise awareness of the issues faced by women survivors of war - and the work that Women for Women International does to help these women on the journey from victim to survivor to active citizen. 

 

You can make an online donation to support Women for Women International UK today. Your generous gift will be used to support women survivors of war in Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan and war-torn countries around the globe.

Expanding Our Global Community
