New Trades For a New Way of Life
When Women for Women International (WfWI) starts a program in a new country, one of the first and crucial steps is to conduct market assessments of the local economy. Identifying the most viable market opportunities for participants is the cornerstone of income generation and allows for the development of targeted job opportunities.
Just a few of the skills program participants have learned include:
- Ceramics (DR Congo)
- Candle-making (Iraq)
- Bread-making (South Sudan)
- CIFI–organic farming (Rwanda)
We help women learn skills through training and through partnerships with other organization and companies. Together, we have helped women learn valuable skills–just a few of which are listed below.
Sewing in Rwanda

Creating global partnerships
WfWI also helps market the products that our participants make. We have created several ongoing partnerships with companies around the world:
