Update: With just 8 months remaining in the project, Soroptimist International members have made a tremendous difference to women in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Rwanda – but there is still so much more we can do!

To date, Project Independence has:

• Sponsored 1,444 women – we’ve exceeded our goal of sponsoring 1,200 women.  But, there are more women still in need of our services.  We can still give more women the chance to rebuild their lives, communities and nations!
• Raised $1.1 million USD to sponsor women and provide capacity building support for Women for Women International’s programs. We’re nearly to our goal of $1.2 million – and if we exceed it, thousands more women will receive our support!

The support of Soroptimist International and Project Independence has allowed Women for Women International to deepen and expand its program services for all women participants in Afghanistan, Bosnia and Herezegovina and Rwanda.
