In Lebanon, 90 percent of the casualties of the current conflict have been civilians, and nearly 2,000 civilians have been seriously wounded. Civilian infrastructure, including bridges and roads, have been targeted in the attacks, making it nearly impossible for civilians, especially women and children, to seek safety. As the conflict escalates, it’s imperative that the media bring the voices of women to the forefront. Women survivors of war are not the single image portrayed on the television screen but the glue that holds families and countries together. After the fighting is over, women will be the ones who must pick up the pieces to rebuild their nation. You can support the women of Lebanon today by speaking out and asking your local media to make sure their voices are being heard.
