2016 Annual Luncheon
On Tuesday, May 3, 2016, Women for Women International’s 2016 Annual Luncheon took place in New York City. The luncheon featured a thought-provoking conversation that explored lessons learned from the 2011 Libyan uprising and highlighted WfWI’s expanded work with Yezidi women and Syrian women refugees. The event featured guest speaker, Alaa Murabit, founder of The Voice of Libyan Women and was moderated by CNN Correspondent, Kyra Phillips.
2015 Annual Awards Gala
On Tuesday, November 10th, 2015, nearly 500 guests and supporters celebrated Women for Women International's 2015 Awards Gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in Manhattan where Dr. Denis Mukwege was honored with the Champion of Peace Award for his work healing and supporting the women of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

On May 5, 2015 more than 300 supporters gathered at 583 Park Avenue in New York to attend Women for Women International’s 7th Annual Luncheon. Guests enjoyed a provocative conversation focused on shifting the western narrative on Afghanistan that focuses on the violence and conflicts, and fails to acknowledge the strong women who are reshaping the country.

FROM ONE TO THREE MILLION: Kicking off a celebratory evening for more than 400 supporters and guests gathered at the iconic American Museum of Natural History, Amjad Atallah shared the story of the organization’s growth.
2014 Annual Luncheon
On May 6, 2014, more than 275 supporters gathered at 583 Park Avenue in New York to attend Women for Women International’s Annual Luncheon. Guests enjoyed a thoughtful and engaging conversation between Samantha Power, United States Ambassador to the United Nations, and Glamour magazine’s editor-in-chief, Cindi Leive, around the role of women in the path for peace and how to stop sexual and gender-based violence. Throughout the program, Ambassador Power underscored the important work of Women for Women International and expressed gratitude for the courage of the staff working in some of the world’s most conflict-affected environments.
20th Anniversary Gala Celebration
To celebrate our 20th Anniversary, Women for Women International honored Former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton with our “Champion of Peace” Award and Women for Women International co-founders Zainab Salbi and Amjad Atallah with a special “Visionary” Award. Under the leadership of Sheryl Sandberg, Honorary Gala Chair, and Christine Fisher and Amy Towers, Gala Co-Chairs, the sold-out event set a new fundraising record of $2.2 million to support our mission and work.
