Aram Shakerm
Country Director for Iraq
Aram Shakerm has over 28 years of work experience in the humanitarian and development sectors in Iraq and other parts of the Middle East. Aram has experience across a number of different roles, which include working at the front lines to bring immediate, lifesaving response to the urgent needs of survivors of conflict, especially women and children. He also led on the design and implementation of women self-help groups and economic empowerment programs in socially excluded areas across Iraq. Prior to joining Women for Women International, Aram worked in leadership roles with a number of agencies, most recently as the Deputy Country Director of Save the Children - Iraq, where he built their program across Iraq.
