Leigh Comas is Treasurer of Women for Women International’s Global Board of Directors. She currently serves as Co-Chair of the Global Finance & Compensation Committee and is a member of the Global Governance Committee, Audit Committee, and the Executive Committee.
After working in the Mergers and Acquisitions Department of Dillon, Read and Co. Inc., Ms. Comas went to the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, where she was an Arjay Miller Scholar and received her MBA in 1991. Ms. Comas joined Manor Care, Inc., a leading, public long-term health care company in Maryland in 1992 where she served as Vice President, Finance, Treasurer and acting Chief Financial Officer. She retired from that position in 1999 and since then has committed herself to her four children, ages 5 to 17, and to volunteer activities at Children's National Medical Center, the National Presbyterian School, the Maret School in Washington, D.C., and Women for Women International.
Ms. Comas has chaired the Children's Hospital Board as well as the Legal Affairs and Audit Committee of the Children's National Medical Center, and has served on the Executive Compensation Committee and the Finance Committee. At National Presbyterian, Ms. Comas charied the 35th Anniversary Capital Campaign and the Finance Committee and served on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees at the Maret School. She holds the positions of Treasurer and Chair of the Finance and Compensation Committee at Women for Women International, where she also serves on the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors.
Ms. Comas was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 1987 with an A.B. in Economics. She lives with her husband Dan and their four children in Washington, D.C.
