Lynn Shanahan is a member of the Board of Directors at Women for Women International, where she
currently serves as a member of the Revenue & Advancement Committee
Ms. Shanahan was most recently Chief Executive Officer of Kellwood Company, a leading manufacturer and marketer of women’s and girl’s apparel. She positioned the portfolio company for rapid growth by developing and implementing Kellwood’s market platform strategy focusing on building strong premium Contemporary brands, addressing the expanding Modern Missy segment and increasing market share in the increasingly competitive Juniors sector. Under her leadership, Kellwood’s private label business team identified the market demand for contemporary apparel with a missy fit and transitioned its moderates division to appeal to the new Modern Missy market segment.
Ms. Shanahan is also founder of C2Group LLC, a company that partners with strategic companies and private equity firms, providing operating management dedicated to brand development, revenue generation and growth for its clients. Notably, she identified new market potential for Marimekko, a Finland-based textile, home and apparel design company, brought it to the U.S., and developed retail, wholesale and e-commerce while serving as its North American president.
During her 15-year tenure with Tommy Hilfiger, Ms. Shanahan was integral in shaping the company’s vision, growth and future development plans and served in increasingly responsible leadership positions. As Group President, U.S. Wholesale and Global Licensing, her responsibilities included sales, merchandising, marketing, design, production and strategy. She led the divisional presidents in managing the U.S. wholesale businesses, including Men’s and Women’s Sportswear, Junior’s and Children’s, and had oversight of all U.S and International product-licensed businesses.
Shanahan earned an MS degree from Columbia University, and received her BA from the University of Michigan. She is a member of The Committee of 200, Boldcap Ventures Fund, and the U.S. Foreign Policy Advisory Council for Women at the Council on Foreign Relations. She also serves on the of Trustees of George Jackson Academy.
