Marne Levine is a member of Women for Women International’s Global Board of Directors.
Marne Levine is the Vice President of Global Partnerships, Business and Corporate Development at Facebook, Inc., where she works in service of the community of over 2.7 billion users and the diverse ecosystem of partners and developers across the Facebook family of aps and services. She is responsible for global strategic partnerships, business development, e-commerce and payment initiatives, platform developer relations, connectivity efforts and mobile partnerships, and Facebook’s Community Leadership and social enterprise programs. She also manages a variety of businesses including Facebook Watch and IGTV (for long form video), Audience Network, Mobile Games, and Workplace (Facebook’s enterprise work collaboration tool).
Previously, Marne served as Chief Operating Officer of Instagram from 2014 -2018 where she was responsible for helping to scale the company’s business and operations globally and turn Instagram from a beloved app into a thriving business. She joined Facebook in 2010 as Facebook’s first Vice President of Global Policy, a position she held for four years.
Prior to Facebook, Marne served in the Obama Administration as Chief of Staff of the National Economic Council (NEC) at the White House and Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy.
From 2006-2008, she was Head of Product Management for Revolution Money, an early stage start-up working on person-to-person online money transfers, which was ultimately sold to American Express. Prior to this, she served as Chief of Staff to Larry Summers, then President of Harvard University. Marne began her career in 1993 at the United States Department of Treasury under President Bill Clinton where she held a number of leadership positions.
Marne holds a B.A. in political science and communications from Miami University and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. She serves on the Board of Directors for Chegg, along with several not for profits including Lean In.org, the Urban Institute, Women for Women International, and the Department of Defense’s Defense Innovation Board and is a member of the Trilateral Commission. She resides in Menlo Park, CA with her husband and two sons.
