#SheInspiresMe is Mumsnet Guest Campaign!

We're delighted that our #SheInspiresMe campaign is featuring on Mumsnet, the UK's biggest network for parents, as guest campaign this month.

Women for Women International launched the #SheInspiresMe campaign because there is an urgent need for more funding to give women who have suffered the trauma of war the practical skills and knowledge they need to rebuild their lives, and inspire brighter futures for themselves and their families.

We've heard you

Earlier this month, we asked members of the #SheInspiresMe sisterhood to complete our supporter survey.

We would like to say a big thank you to everyone who completed the survey. Your answers will help us make our sisterhood more effective.

When we asked you what we could do better, you told us you want the tools to raise awareness and spread the word about the issues women face across the world.

So we've put together some ideas for how you can do just that:

We are grateful to beauty companies The Braid Bar and In Your Dreams, who will be providing exciting hairstyles and experimental facial embellishment and make up for shoppers at the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale.

The Braid Bar

The Braid Bar, founded in 2014 by west Londoners Sarah Hiscox and Willa Burton, is a standalone hair braiding bar located in Selfridges Oxford Street that also provides services for parties, events and festivals. They offer a menu of braids to choose from, with a style to suit everyone and every occasion.

Women for Women International are so excited to be presenting our own car boot stall at the #SheInspiresMe Car Boot Sale. We’ll be selling wonderful items made by women graduates of our programmes, including beautiful baskets and delicious coffee made by cooperatives of Rwandan women and jewellery made by graduates in Afghanistan. What’s more, our car boot will have an amazing range of unique fashion pieces donated by some of our supporters!

Celebrating the 150th anniversary of Beatrix Potter

Laura Jackson and Alice Levine are the duo behind the Jackson & Levine Supper Club. On the 22 March 2016 they kindly co-hosted a dinner with Women for Women International to celebrate the 150th Anniversary of Beatrix Potter. The intimate dinner at The OXO Tower Restaurant was attended by 20 inspirational women of today. In this piece, written by Jackson and Levine, they explain why Beatrix Potter was such an inspirational woman and why they support Women for Women International.
