Along with 12 other organizations, Women for Women International is a signatory of the Pledge for Change, a commitment by aid and development organizations to build a stronger aid ecosystem based on the principles of solidarity, humility, self-determination, and equality to drive more decision-making and resources to places most affected by crises and poverty.
This means we are shifting power to local decision-makers, thereby reducing control over resources and simplifying reporting, funding, and compliance requirements, making collaboration more effective and trust-based. This is done through the three pledges:
Equitable partnerships: Working with local partners and ensure transparent, relationship-based partnerships with fair terms, shared risks, and mutual accountability.
Authentic storytelling: Amplifying local voices by prioritizing the perspectives, expertise, and leadership of people closest to the challenges women in conflict face.
Influencing wider change: Sharing progress and lessons about Pledge for Change with our audience, donors, peers, and supporters.
Being signatories means we hold ourselves accountable. We will:
Publish annual updates on our progress against the pledge’s three core pillars.
Invite feedback from partners and communities to guide our journey.
Commit to doing better.
