Organizations scramble to evacuate Americans from Afghanistan

"We have really gotten a chance to have a front seat to the absolute desperation and disorder that has been surrounding the airport and the evacuation points," said Marie Clarke.
Marie Clarke, vice president of global programs,  explained how Women for Women International is attempting to help get people out of Afghanistan following the Taliban’s takeover of the country.

The U.S. troop withdrawal from Afghanistan is expected to be completed this week as President Biden continues to insist there is no end to the commitment to safely evacuate Americans and Afghans who want to leave the country. Clarke speaks with host Jared Halpern about at-risk WfWI staff and families and their experiences sheltering in place and attempting to evacuate.
