Women, Peace, and Security
On Tuesday, May 1, 2017 Women for Women International hosted our 2017 Annual Luncheon: Women, Peace, and Security. Nearly 600 supporters gathered for a conversation with former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton moderated by CNN’s, Christiane Amanpour. Secretary Clinton spoke on the need for an organization like Women for Women International giving and discussed equal pay, current affairs, foreign and domestic conflicts, and the 2016 presidential campaign. Thanks to the generous support of attendees, the event raised an astounding $1.2 million.
As Secretary Clinton stated, “women’s rights [is] the unfinished business of the 21st Century. There is no more important or larger issue that has to be addressed.”
