Harmonizing Women's Power, Strength, and Joy

Celebrating the Power of Global Sisterhood with Song

Music plays a transformative role in bringing communities together

Before the Coronavirus pandemic forced us to socially distance and stay indoors, a group of our dedicated supporters travelled to visit our program in Rwanda. In collaboration with our program participants, they recorded a beautiful collection of songs in Kinyarwanda, the local language, and English.

2020 has posed countless challenges – which are felt even more tangibly by the women we serve. Women in countries affected by conflict are especially vulnerable to social and economic uncertainty.

In a year when many of us are physically apart from loved ones, we wanted to share this special project with you – our global community.

"Together, we forgot about our poverty. We dance and sing together. We love each other. We assist each other if we face problems." - Donata, Women for Women International Rwanda Program

"I could feel the women's power and strength through their singing voices. Singing is a natural expression.

It celebrates life in all aspects: joy, sadness, love, friendship. It connects people together."
