CEO Laurie Adams Highlights the Resilience of Afghan Women and the Impact of WfWI Training Centers in Conversation with BBC Newsday

"Even though it is frightening, and it takes incredible courage and daring, the women continue showing up in the training centers."
Our CEO, Laurie Adams, was recently featured on BBC NewsDay to discuss the incredible strength and determination of Afghan women, as well as the profound impact of our training centers in Afghanistan amid growing restrictions against women’s rights.
The interview illustrated how Women for Women International’s (WfWI) training centers provide a safe space for women, enabling them to maintain their mental well-being, find courage in adversity, and continue to raise their children during such challenging times. Our training centers are one of few places where women can come together, connect with other women, and learn essential skills and knowledge to sustain themselves and their families’ livelihood. During the interview, Laurie also emphasized the courage being demonstrated by Afghan women who continue to work in the training centers every day and ensure that other women have a place to receive support.
